CARETAKER

COUNSELING

Caretaking and parenthood is a fulfilling and satisfying job, but it comes with a range of sacrifices and compromises. A caretaker is anyone who provides support to an elderly parent, children, a disabled person, or an ill partner. It is important to identify that one is a caregiver, and that parenthood is also a full-time caregiving role.

Caregiving to a family member or parenthood, in general, is usually a choice that a person makes and is societally considered their prime duty. Even though caring for a loved one comes out of care and affection, the act can sometimes be associated with emotions like stress, anger, guilt, and frustration, which is completely normal and acceptable. These emotions arise over some time and remain as a long-lasting presence if not acknowledged at the right moment. Full-time caretaking and the associated emotions can isolate a person. It is therefore important to identify the overwhelming feelings and take a step towards finding help wherever one can.

This is where Antar assists in recognizing and identifying the problem scenarios. Counselors at Antar help in understanding and comprehending the reasons behind the emotions, followed by acceptance of pain and difficulty in managing the emotions. They then aid in finding techniques to deal with and tackle the problems, as well as the emotions in question.
